Good 700$ Gaming PC Build ?

Go to solution Solved by Geekazoid,

Okay, I put together a build. It's a bit over your budget but you can adjust things to get it to a price that you're comfortable with:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3vcim

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3vcim/by_merchant/

Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3vcim/benchmarks/

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.97 @ OutletPC)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Newegg)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($87.99 @ Amazon)

Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($79.98 @ OutletPC)

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($159.99 @ Newegg)

Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer ATX Mid Tower Case ($87.32 @ Mwave)

Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) ($102.42 @ NCIX US)

Monitor: Acer H236HLbid 60Hz 23.0" Monitor ($134.99 @ Amazon)

Total: $1112.62

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

(Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-04-20 14:19 EDT-0400)

EDIT: I removed the Samsung SSD and swapped out the Seagate Barracuda HDD for the Western Digital one because the Western Digital is more reliable if you're going to use a HDD as your main drive.

Oh! I also swapped out the EVGA GTX 750Ti for the MSI one that you preferred. I hope you like the changes. :D

it doesnt matter.. as long as the performance is like i5.. 4570 or,, 3570 :/

The 4670 is the successor to the 3570 (I know, a tad confusing, right?). Also most, if not, all Intel CPUs will outperform any AMD CPU in single threaded performance which is a couple of what your everyday programs will be. Personally, if you could, I would stretch that budget for a 4670 or, if you wanna OC, a 4670 K if you can.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

definitly get a cheaper case, like the n400, no need for a 90 dollar case when you cant afford an 4670k

Okay, good. You won't be disappointed in that decision :D. Okay, well I'll try to list a good motherboard for you. I wouldn't really go the Asrock route if I were you just because I was going to do that when I was getting suggestions for PC parts and I was told to stay away from Asrock, at least at the lower end, because their PCBs are pretty flimsy and not great quality. I'd probably stick to the others like Gigabyte, ASUS and MSI because you will still get a decent quality Motherboard at a lower price point.

@farhan, is this (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz87xd3h) too expensive for you? It's not much more then the ASROCK Extreme 4 that you had looked at and it would be much better quality.

Or

This (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz87xhd3). I think this one will better suit your budget IMHO.

Is there any reason why you want/suggesting that one? You just don't wanna go overkill. You'd be better off getting a cheaper Motherboard that you can still do SLI with and then spend that extra cash on a decent GPU like the GTX 770 or whatever you can afford.

Okay. Good. Ya have the Mobo sorted. An SSD is a good option if you can afford it because it will significantly speed up your PCs boot time and opening of applications. I would definitely add one if you can.

I'm pretty sure that the 4130 will bottleneck that 760, correct me if I'm wrong.

It should be just fine. It will bottleneck a 770 and up but a 760 is fine.

Ah alright. I was going to suggest the Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nanoxia-case-nxds1b) as it's what I plan to get only in white.

Well I don't really know but it sure sounds like it. I haven't actually got my build yet. I'm hopefully going to build it late this year and I only chose the GTX 750 Ti because I feel it's all I need as I'm coming from a GT 430 1GB DDR3 GPU and it'll be quite an upgrade for me + I don't play games so it's suits my needs perfectly and I can always upgrade down the track when I feel I need to. No point in paying for what you're not going to use I say. :D

So @farhan, which will it be, the GTX 750 Ti or the GTX 760? I'm asking this because I'm putting together a PC Part Picker Config for you.

Also @farhan, are wanting a monitor? If you do I would strongly recommend an IPS display as it's going to be much better visually.

Well I was just trying to go for a well known and reliable PSU and brand + my mum has the exact PSU in her system and it runs very quiet.

Aesthetics are quite subjective so go for whichever one aesthetically pleases you the most. Good luck mate!

Be sure to post pics or do a build log on these forums when you've got the parts and start it as I would love to see this build. :D
